Top 5 der Länder für den Sommerurlaub 2020

1. Niederlande

In meinem ersten Beitrag habe ich Amsterdam auf Platz 5 meiner Bucketlist für 2020 gewählt. Und auch jetzt scheint diesem Ziel nichts im Wege zu stehen. Die Grenzen zwischen Deutschland und den Niederlanden sind nach wie vor offen und du kannst problemlos ein- und ausreisen (selbst getestet). Gut möglich, dass es ein wenig ruhiger in Hollands berühmtester Stadt wird. Dafür musst du dir die Sehenswürdigkeiten vielleicht nicht mit tausenden anderen Touristen teilen. So kannst du einen ganz individuellen Eindruck von der Stadt gewinnen.

2. Österreich

Nachdem ich Wien als meine Wahlheimat gewählt habe, ist es nicht von der Hand zu weisen, dass ich ein großer Fan dieses Landes bin. Und auch außerhalb der Hauptstadt hat Österreich einiges zu bieten – ist auch schon lange kein Geheimnis mehr. Wilde Bergwelten und malerische Ortschaften könnten charakteristisch für deinen Sommerurlaub 2020 werden. Der Grenzübertritt von Deutschland nach Österreich und zurück ist bereits jetzt mehr oder weniger problemlos möglich und ab 15. Juni sind die Grenzen dann ganz offiziell offen.

3. Portugal

Genaue Daten stehen noch nicht fest, aber Portugal will sich bald möglich wieder dem Tourismus öffnen. Die Fallzahlen waren hier auch nie so hoch wie in Spanien und es gibt gute Chancen, dass du deinen Sommerurlaub an den rauen Küsten des Atlantiks oder in einem malerischen Ort wie Lissabon oder Porto verbringen kannst.

4. Griechenland

Die Sehnsucht der Griechen nach deutschen Touristen ist groß, weshalb das Land sich bereits Mitte Juni wieder dem Tourismus aus Deutschland öffnet. Auch der Zugang zu den Inseln soll wieder ermöglicht werden.

5. Deutschland

In Zeiten der Pandemie ist es natürlich allgemein fragwürdig, wie sehr wir unbedingt uns jetzt wieder in einen Flieger setzen müssen und damit riskieren, dass das Virus sich abermals Lauffeuerartig ausbreitet. Als kleiner Reise-Junkie habe ich absolutes Verständnis für jeden, der die Heimat nicht mehr aushält und sich in ferne Gefilde sehnt. Aber vielleicht sollten wir diesen Sommerurlaub 2020 einfach mal in unserem eigenen Land verbringen? Der Ansturm auf Deutschlands Küsten ist bereits jetzt groß, aber es gibt noch so viel mehr. Von der sächsischen Schweiz bis zum Allgäuer Land, von Berlin bis zum Bodensee: Es gibt bestimmt etliche Orte, die du noch nicht kennst. Und diese sind dann auch ganz bequem mit dem Zug oder Auto (auch wenn ich ja normalerweise gegen Autos bin) zu erreichen – mit viel Platz zwischen dir und anderen.

Weitere Länder für den Sommerurlaub 2020

Abgesehen von den genannten Ländern, sperren nun immer mehr ihre Pforten wieder auf und bieten somit eine doch relativ große Auswahl an möglichen Urlaubszielen. Die Türkei arbeitet gerade Pläne aus, um die Urlaubsregionen rund um Antalya wieder zu beleben. Italien – trotz schlimmer Corona-Vergangenheit – sperrt die Flughäfen und Strände wieder Stück für Stück auf und bietet die Chance auf Amore und Pasta. Auch Kroatien möchte bald wieder Urlauber willkommen heißen. Und auch die liebste Urlaubsinsel der Deutschen – Mallorca – soll bald wieder von TUI angeflogen werden.

Es wird sich bestimmt in den nächsten Wochen noch einiges tun und immer mehr Länder ihre Pforten öffnen. Trotzdem solltest du dir trotz aller Reisefreude ganz genau überlegen wohin du reisen möchtest und auf welchem Weg. Denn abgesehen von der Verantwortung, die jeder einzelne von uns der Allgemeinheit gegenüber trägt, besteht natürlich auch die Möglichkeit einer zweiten Welle – und damit die Gefahr, dass der Sommerurlaub dann doch in Quarantäne endet.

Summer Holidays 2020 Despite Corona: 5 Realistic Holiday Destinations

In February, I was still writing the holiday destinations for 2020, without suspecting that the summer holidays this year would be completely different. But fortunately, things are starting to going back to normal again and the countries are gradually opening up to tourism. So it seems that our summer holidays will be saved after all. Here is my update for realistic destinations for the summer holiday 2020.

Top 5 countries for the summer holiday 2020

1. Netherlands

In my first post I chose Amsterdam on position 5 of my bucket list for 2020 and even now nothing seems to stand in the way of this goal. The borders between Germany and the Netherlands are still open and you can enter and leave without any problems (tested by myself). Maybe it will be a little bit quieter in Holland’s most famous city, but you might not have to share the sights with thousands of other tourists and you can get a very individual impression of the city.

2. Austria

Having chosen Vienna as my home, it cannot be denied that I am a great fan of this country. And Austria also has a lot to offer outside the capital – it’s no secret. Wild mountain worlds and picturesque villages could become characteristic for your summer holiday 2020. Crossing the border from Germany to Austria and back is already possible more or less without any problems and from 15 June the borders will be officially open.

3. Portugal

Exact dates are not yet known, but Portugal wants to open up to tourism again as soon as possible. The number of cases here has never been as high as in Spain and there is a good chance that you can spend your summer holidays on the rough coasts of the Atlantic or in a picturesque place like Lisbon or Porto.

4. Greece

The longing of the Greeks for German tourists is great, which is why the country is already opening up to tourism from Germany again in mid-June. Also the access to the islands should be made possible again.

5. Germany

In times of a pandemic, it is of course generally questionable how much we need to get back into a plane now and risk the virus spreading like wildfire again. As a little travel junkie I have absolute understanding for everyone who can’t stand home anymore and longs for faraway places. But maybe we should just spend this summer holiday 2020 in our own country? The rush on Germany’s coasts is already great, but there is so much more to come. From Saxon Switzerland to the Allgäuer Land, from Berlin to Lake Constance: there are certainly many places you don’t know yet. And these are easily accessible by train or car (even though I’m usually against cars) – with plenty of space between you and others.

More countries for the summer holiday 2020

Apart from the countries mentioned above, more and more are now opening their doors again, thus offering a relatively large selection of possible holiday destinations. Turkey is currently working out plans to revive the holiday regions around Antalya. Italy – despite a bad Corona past – is opening up the airports and beaches again bit by bit and offers the chance for amore and pasta. Croatia also wants to welcome holidaymakers again soon. And the Germans‘ favourite holiday island – Majorca – will soon be flown to again by TUI.

There will certainly be more to come in the next few weeks and more and more countries will open their doors. Nevertheless, despite all the joy of travelling, you should think very carefully about where you want to go and by which route. Because apart from the responsibility that each and every one of us bears towards the general public, there is of course also the possibility of a second wave – and with it the danger that the summer holiday will end in quarantine after all.

1. Kambodscha

Eingekesselt zwischen Laos, Vietnam und Thailand liegt Kambodscha, das einen unschönen Fleck in der Weltkarte meiner bereisten Länder bildet. Reich an teilweise tragischer Geschichte und gespickt mit traumhaften Stränden ist Kambodscha schon lange kein Geheimtipp mehr. Allerhöchste Zeit es von der Liste meiner möglichen Ziele zu streichen und endlich zu bereisen.

2. Myanmar

Egal, wen man fragt, von Myanmar sind alle hellauf begeistert. Das Land hat sich erst vor wenigen Jahren dem Tourismus geöffnet und aufgrund immer wiederkehrender Unruhen fliegt es bis heute eher unterm Radar. Ich bin jetzt schon ganz gespannt, was das Land zu bieten hat und ob ich mich dem Hype anschließen kann.

3. Borneo

Eine Insel, die mich schon seit Längerem reizt – und das nicht nur, weil du hier noch Orang Utans sichten kannst. Traumhafte Unterwasserwelten im Nord-Osten und die Tatsache, dass auch hier der Massentourismus noch nicht angekommen sind, machen Borneo besonders attraktiv für mich.

4. Marokko

Schon viel zu lange steht dieser Ort auf meiner Wunschliste und gehört auch jetzt auf die Liste der Urlaubsziele für 2020. Schon lange kein Geheimtipp mehr, vor allem wenn es um Marrakesch geht. Aber in Marokko versteckt sich noch so viel mehr und ich kann es kaum erwarten das Land zu bereisen.

5. Amsterdam

Mein letzter Punkt auf der Liste ist wohl ein kleiner Schandfleck, schließlich habe ich schon so viel in Europa gesehen. Aber wie es auch bei Paris der Fall war, werde ich wohl als letzter Mensch Amsterdam viel zu spät entdecken. Hoffentlich noch in diesem Jahr!

5 holiday destinations for 2020

Two months of the new year are already over and there are still 6 months of world travel ahead of me. At least I hope so. While I’m here in the Philippines, it’s time to think about the goals of the new year. My 5 holiday destinations for 2020 – also as inspiration for your next trip.

Cambodia

Cambodia is located between Lao, Vietnam and Thailand, which is an white spot on the world map of my travelled countries. Rich in partly tragic history and peppered with beautiful beaches, Cambodia is no longer an insider tip. It is time to remove Cambodia from my list of possible destinations and to finally travel there.

Myanmar

No matter who you ask, everyone is very enthusiastic about Myanmar. The country has only opened up to tourism a few years ago and due to recurring troubles it’s still not on everyones travel list. I’m already very curious what the country has to offer and if I can join the hype.

Borneo

An island that has been attracting me for a long time – and not only because you can still see orang utans here. Fantastic underwater world in the north-east and the fact that mass tourism has not yet arrived here either make Borneo especially attractive for me.

Morocco

This place has been on my wish list far too long. It hasn’t been an insider tip for a long time, especially when it comes to Marrakesh. But there is so much more hidden in Morocco and I can hardly wait to travel the country.

Amsterdam

My last point on the list is probably a small blot, after all I have seen so much in Europe. But as it was the case with Paris, I will probably be the last person to discover Amsterdam much too late. Hopefully before the end of this year!
