Reise-Rock Favorit 3: Der Midi-Rock

Travel Skirt: These are my travel skirt favorites

Normally, I prefer to wear trousers, but in recent years, the skirts have gradually conquered my wardrobe. And also my suitcase. Because who believes that skirts are impractical to travel, is wrong. Here are my 3 favorite travel rock models.

Why a skirt for travel?

Pants at first glance seem much more practical and that may often be the case. But travel skirts have other advantages, especially cultural nature. There are still countries where women wear little to no pants. Who does not want to sting from the crowd, is good to adapt to the clothing rules. Above all, long skirts are actually accepted everywhere and thus a culturally „safe“ garment. Depending on the fabric and cut skirts can also be very light and airy. This pleases you especially in tropical regions. Depending on what you combine the skirt, it is also extremely diverse. From casual to cute to sexy, everything is there. So you can save the evening wear and thus space in the suitcase, which can be used for souvenirs;)

Travel Skirt Favorite 1: Maxi-Skirt with Side-Cut

This airy skirt is my constant companion on my trips to Asia. It does not just combine casual, because of the high side-cut it also has that extra something. Nevertheless, it is long enough, for example, to be able to enter temples – at least I was always waved through. My favorite combination: a loose T-shirt in a bright color, with sneaker and a handbag. My lemon bag is a real eye-catcher and already a longtime companion on my travels 😉 But the travel skirt can also be styled well with high heels for the evening or with sandals for a beach walk.

Travel Skirt Favorite 2: A- Line Skirt

From casual to sexy, from city break to beach vacation – with this skirt you can do anything. The variety of this skirt is simply endless and therefore the ideal travel companion – at least for all regions where you can show knee! With sneakers and a casual T-shirt perfect for the city trip, sexy in the evening with stilettos, in winter with tights or overknees: you can style this travel skirt for every season.

Travel Skirt: A-Line

Travel-Rock Favorit 3: The Midi-Skirt

For the more elegant occasions, or as soon as it has to be really chaste – then Midi Skirt is the perfect choice. Above all, the Mermaid cut is not only in fashion, but also perfect for curvy women. I always love to wear this skirt a little more elegant, because with high heels it works best. Also a possibility is the style break with plateau sneakers.

General tips for choosing your travel skirt:

1.Neutral colors

So you can easily combine everything to the appropriate skirt. My favorite color is – not to be missed – black. Because that makes you very flexible and you do not see dirt too fast.

2. Crease-free fabric

When traveling, a fabric that does not wrinkle easily is an advantage. Some substances are extra labeled as „wrinkle free“. A high stretch content also helps against creases. I can advise against linen, unfortunately it wrinkles extremely fast. If you still want to play it safe, you can pack a travel steamer.

3. Choose length by destination

Cultural factors are of course important, and in very traditional or Muslim regions, for example, the mini should stay at home. Inform yourself in advance about the dress rules, then there are no unpleasant surprises.

4. Not too expensive and not too cheap

Now saying nothing, but not so unimportant. Too cheaply produced and processed skirts may not withstand the conditions of travel. You get stuck, the laundry service does not deal with the clothes with the same care, or even the eternal out-of-the-suit-tugging can harm the skirt. Therefore, the seams should be sewn properly and the fabric not too susceptible to cracks. But you do not want to expose too expensive skirts exactly these conditions, so here again the golden middle is in demand.
